The Shine Legacy
Chapter 1: The Shine Legacy
Long before the time of Steve and Alex there lived another dimension to Minecraft. A realm beyond the skies so magnificent that no one can completely record what it actually looked like. The extensive gardens were filled with every kind of flowers and the air smelled faintly of bonemeal. It was a pleasant scent despite the name. The paths were stone with flecks of gold. There was no need for torches, the land shone brighter than day. In fact, there was no darkness and no one could care less. Yes, Craftenland seemed to be a perfect world.
The fountains were crystal clear, gurgling streams flowed without hinderance and the grass was always green. Peaceful sheep grazed on the distant pastures and the forests were silent and still. In the city itself, the golden sun gleamed off of the white quartz and diamond towers, their amazing architecture in beautiful contrast against the baby blue sky. It was always the perfect temperature and there was no rain.
But beneath the surface of this brilliant place, trouble was simmering in the form of one of the Royals. One by the name of Herobrine. From the moment he was born, Herobrine knew he was destined for something far beyond the life he was born into. He was a mischievous lad, always sticking his nose into the other Royal's business. Herobrine was smart and he knew it. The other Royals knew it too and that worried them.
Craftenland was a peaceful haven. There was no chaos and everyone lived in perfect harmony. Life was slow and luxurious. Order and happiness were the law and everyone was happy to abide by it. Until Herobrine came along. He quickly became bored with the life he was living. He longed for adventure and began to experiment.
These experiments were kept hidden from the Royals for quite some time. Herobrine spent his days in hidden caverns he hollowed out himself. He never tired of building, as was one of the many powers the Royals possessed. Little did the Royal leaders know how powerful Herobrine actually was. After many many failures, Herobrine finally invented two things that would change the course of Craftenland forever.
Steve was one. They were his creation, made in his image to do his bidding. They adored him and would do anything and everything for him...with one condition. They loved diamonds and everything else valuable. Herobrine had to supply them with these jewels to keep them happy. That was hardly any trouble as Craftenland was rich with riches and really only was a nuisance, or as Herobrine called it, a glitch. He planned to program it out of their system but as you will see, he never got around to it.
Because Herobrine had to keep his creation a secret, Steve was encased in a room of bedrock. They were quite the curious creatures after all. Herobrine decided Steve needed some company so he created Alex. Alex was more headstrong than her companion.
The second great invention Herobrine made was the Serviar portal. Through the years it would come to be known as a “Server” because Steve and Alex couldn't pronounce it. With the Serviar it he made great worlds that he alone could visit and explore. Herobrine hated cities. Small villages would suffice. Robotic villagers helped to fill the empty space until Herobrine was ready to release his other invention to the lands he created.
Just as Herobrine was ready to release his first creations into his Serviar portal, his laboratory was found by a man named Aureate, one of the Royals of Light. He had been creating a room for a new addition to his family when he came across it. Aureate immediately senses something wrong and told the Elders. After a quick investigation, it was realized that what Herobrine had made was a threat to their city and their life. There was only one option. Banishment.
Herobrine and his inventions were forced to leave. They traveled through the Serviar Portal and told never to return. Herobrine was heartbroken and very very angry. After he left, the Royals tried in vain to shut down the portal between the worlds. Times were getting troubled. Without the portal shut down, Herobrine could get back into Craftenland. To keep this problem to a minimum, a Royal named Guardian was sent to watch the portal.
Alex and Steve thrived in their new world. Herobrine finally began to feel lonely and created many more of what he called Players. They grew increasingly smart and soon they began to realize that they could get along just fine without Herobrine. They built structures, messed up the land and built the biggest towers out of the most random things. Herobrine hated it and soon began to attack his own creations, trying to get revenge.
By now, there were thousands and thousands of players. Too many for Herobrine to keep track of and to his dismay, they began creating worlds for themselves. This made it even harder to keep control. Herobrine was kept busy drifting in and out of worlds, haunting them and causing fear amongst the players. He destroyed their buildings and caused massive trouble. This went on for quite some time.
Meanwhile, back in Craftenland, peace reigned once more. Aureate and his wife Shimmer had their baby whom they affectionately named Shine. The baby was the light of their eyes...literally.
